Nope, HP Tuners here. How do you like the EFI Live? Is the autotune functional yet?

I haven't bothered messing with autotune....I haven't done *too* much with it, first round was just getting rid of codes, ending the stock limitations, and getting it to idle better...now its just kinda play with it and see what happens lol. Theres a 1/4 track about 8 miles from my house ...all things considered, I like it though.

Let me know how it works if you ever do mess with it. It is a great tool for a quick dial in when putting in new parts and then you can fine tune afterwards. HP Tuners is taking too long with it I don't know whats going on.

There is definatelly ALOT you can do in HPtuners. helps to have someone who knows what they are doing, walk you through tuning for awhile. I got alot of help from a couple buddys online here. They had used it a few times, and helped me out, explained it abit, and now im getting the hang of it, or so I think. Still have some upper end MAF tuning to do, but other then that, LTFT's are great, and have most of the KR tuned out of mine, along with the PE tables set, and the bottom 3/4 of the maf table spot on.

I havent ever used one yet, soon I will but I dont know wich to get.
The one Trifecta offers sounds very tempting since I dont know anything about a tune, nothing better than having it custom made

You'll never get the hang of that software the learning curve is far off from the advancement is the software. For instance by the time you think you got it all figured out either a new update becomes available with more features or GM changes platforms. I.E. LS2 try to tune that. I have learned quite a bit but I feel the hardest part is not the little stuff like fans, speedometer, idle, thats self explanitory, but try dialing in a 3 bar speed density and command the A/F to stay at 11.5 at WOT and 14.7 idle and cruise. Not so easy. Now with EFI Lives autotune you can actually command A/F to stay at a solid number no matter what. It has been tested. Awesome feature and that is why I want to switch to EFI Live.

Thats also a good way to mess it all up. I remember when I first got HP Tuners I would always do some stupid shit and then my car wouldnt crank. Now about the only thing I do is adjust fans, speed limiter, add fuel, add air, add timing or vise versa. Oh and disable CAGS and torque management. It has a handy scanner to check for KR while you are driving which is nice.

    Old thread! :)

I have hptuners and EFIlive. I do prefer HPtuners over EFIlive - but both are pretty handy.

Evenin ma'am, good to see ya here....so, you ever gonna tell me how to spell it?

And FWIW, I like the auto tune option EFILive offers..I must admit, I've never used it on my car, but on some friends vehicles, and it works well.....but I prefer to tune it myself, or have a professional do so lol

I really do like my EFILive. What sucks is that my car's a 98 and can't run the COS5

You can re-pin the PCM connectors, install a 0411 PCM, flash in the 2002 F-body tune file, swap the fuel segment from a van tune file (I forget which van...)... and then you'll be able to then easily jump to COS5.
